Sorry for the wall of text, I see people complain about cc on children all the time and there are never any good explanations for why, so I thought I'd give mine.The greatest Joy in my life today is that i have been cured of Herpes by a Doctor called Dr. I don't see "makeup", eyelashes, or long hair as weird or off-putting if used right. There is a line where certain types of cc can make a child look "mature".
There are others who use lipstick that looks real, colorful eye shdow, and clothes that you wouldn't catch on any parent approved tv show. My children and toddlers look a lot like this, very cartoony and cute. Even the potato face children in Skyrim have eyelashes.
It kind of implies that eyelashes are feminine or sensual in some way. I always hate it when games only have eyelashes for adult females. I do use eyelash cc because everyone has eyelashes irl and toddlers look really weird to me without them. I don't use skin overlays, but I imagine that the people that do just want the children to "match" the adults. For me it’s not actual "makeup", it’s just a texture. The base game lips look really bland so I use "lipstick" cc that adds some texture or color to the lips, and I use it across all ages and genders for texture. A lot of the "makeup" I view more as textures added to my sim. There are a lot of conversions of adult hair because when toddlers were first added they had very little of anything. People want interesting cartoony hair styles rather than short realistic ones. It doesn’t look realistic so some people aren't striving for realistic looking kids and toddlers. I think a lot of it is due to the cartoony art style of the game.
